How to mount a print

Have you ever wondered how to mount a print? I was preparing some prints for a recent event and I thought, this might be a good thing to share. Just how do I mount a print, quickly and easily?

So I’ve made a short video, which you can watch right here:

Just as there are with cats and skinning, there are probably all sorts of ways to mount a print. This is the method I use.

There are all sorts of mounts out there, but I use pre-cut mounts with a separate backing board. The video shows how to attach the print to the mount, and then the mount to the backing board, quickly and painlessly.

I follow the advice offered by my suppliers, Cotswold Mounts, on their website and, so far, it hasn’t let me down. The mounts have stood up to being ferried around the South West to various different events, and several have now disappeared off to new homes of their own, all without incident.

You can buy my prints in my Etsy shop as either a mounted print, or an unmounted one. For anyone buying an unmounted print, hopefully you will this short video helpful when you come to prepare your print for hanging on the wall.

Please get in touch if you have any questions, or if you have any top tips that you use when preparing your own prints.
