From the Blog

It’s all happening here

There are several Journal posts that I keep meaning to write. This is not one of them. This is the one I write instead where I pretty much tell you why I haven’t got time to write the other ones.

Are you keeping up?

Let me tell you why I haven’t had time to bang out those other posts. I’ve been busy. For a newly minted small business, busy is good. Mostly.

All’s fair in love and shopping

Here I am at some recent craft fairs. (More accurately, here’s my stall at some recent craft fairs – I was behind the camera.) There are several of these being held in the run-up to Christmas and I am getting my first taste of the craft fair experience (or fayre, or market, or show). Some have been successful, others less so. But it’s great to be out and meeting my customers. And I learn something new at each one I attend.

Coming up this weekend, I will be at Lady’s Mile in Dawlish Warren for their Christmas Market, and then in Bovey Tracey again on 17 December for the final Homecrafters Fayre of the year.

Y’know, for adults,

Away from the fairs, I am extremely pleased to report that I have been selected by the Penryn Press to work as an illustrator on an upcoming colouring book for adults. I will be working alongside two other artists and a poet, to create the artwork for this book. If all goes to plan, it will be out in 2017.

We will be creating all-new artwork for the book and I’m really excited to get going.

Which leads me on to my final point for today: have you seen my new Commissions and Collaborations page? If, like Penryn Press, you have a project that needs illustrating then why not give me a call? I am a pencil for hire. Album artwork, book covers, magazine articles. If you have something you need art for, then I would love to work with you on your designs.

I’m busy, but I would love to be busier. Get in touch and let me know how I can help.
