A short Journal entry this week, to leave you time to go off an enjoy other things.
What other things? you may ask. Well, let me make a few suggestions…
Dark Lane Anthology Volume 5
This new anthology collects 16 short stories, of the strange and wonderful variety. In their words:
The Dark Lane anthology series once again brings the reader a collection of weird worlds and strange stories from both established authors and promising newcomers.
If that sounds like your cup of tea, then you can grab yourself a copy right here.
Many of the stories have accompanying illustrations and I am pleased to report that I contributed several to this collection.
Aphelion, issue 220
The August issue of Aphelion is also out. Aphelion is a webzine of science fiction and fantasy, and each issue contains a mix of long fiction, short stories, poetry, and flashes.
One of my short stories, Tough Town, is in the current issue and you can read it, for free, right here.
It’s a tale of crime, duplicity, and spaceports, and features the highest number of gags I’ve been able to cram into a short story.
What are you waiting for?
Stop reading this, for heaven’s sake, and start reading one of the above collections. Go on, you deserve it!
My wife and I are taking part in two open water swimming events this summer, in support of the Chestnut Appeal for Prostate Cancer. We would love it if you could sponsor us. The second swim is this Sunday, the 13th. Wish us luck!
